Heck, i have an old Thinkpad running WinXP just to support some old Porsche software i need. That's the target audience of this post and the M1 reviews in general. The point here is that for most people who run common apps, there are extremely few compatibility issues with the M1 hardware and that number is dropping by the hour.
If a customer has a niche use case it would of course be prudent to find hardware suitable to the task. You're really missing the forest for the trees here. If those customers decide to move to a different platform because the software they need does not work then it is not irrelevant.
